What Bible translations are included?
10+, including NIV, NASB, and AMP, plus public-domain translations (KJV, WEB, ASV, BBE, Darby, ERV, YLT). Licensed translations come through YouVersion Platform. We're adding more publishers (ESV, NLT, NKJV, CSB) as licensing becomes available.
Does Rooted use AI?
Yes. Google Gemini 2.5 Flash powers the optional AI features — study guides, Deep Context, transcription, Weekly Review, and thought analysis. AI only runs when you explicitly trigger it.
Is my data private?
Yes. Journal entries, thoughts, and prayers are private by default. We don't train models on your data, sell data, or show ads. Google doesn't use API content to improve their models.
Is there an app, or just a website?
Rooted is a web app that installs like a native app. Open rootedjournal.app on your phone and add it to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone/iPad; Install app on Android) for a full-screen experience with push notifications. Everything syncs in real time through Firebase, and dedicated App Store and Play Store apps are planned.
Can I use Rooted in my small group or church?
Yes. Sermon notes can be shared as links or PDFs. Bible studies can be exchanged. For partner or church licenses with multi-user overrides, email support@rootedjournal.app.
Can I transcribe my own sermons?
Yes. On the Rooted tier, upload audio or video (M4A, MP4, MOV, WebM, up to 500MB) and AI will transcribe it. You can also paste a YouTube link to ingest a sermon.
