Rooted is a daily faith journal and Bible study companion. We built it because the loudest tools in this space replace the practice instead of supporting it. Rooted points you back to Scripture — never tries to be it.
Why Rooted exists
Most "Bible apps" are content libraries with a Bible inside. Rooted is the opposite: a personal practice tool, with the Bible as the anchor. It exists because the people closest to us — pastors, seminary students, regular folks — kept saying the same thing. They wanted one place to capture sermon notes, work through verses, and journal what God was teaching them. Not a feed. Not a community. A quiet place to think.
How we think about AI
We use AI, and we're careful about it. AI features are opt-in — they only run when you trigger them. They never write your reflections for you; they help you seewhat you've already written. The Weekly Review surfaces themes across your journal. Deep Context explains historical and linguistic background for a verse. Sermon transcription saves you the typing. Your entries are not used to train any model.
What we believe about Scripture
Rooted treats the Bible as the authoritative Word of God. The app supports 10+ translations (NIV, NASB, AMP, KJV, and several public-domain translations) so you can study in the version your church teaches from. We're working with publishers to add more (ESV, NLT, NKJV, CSB) as licensing becomes available. We don't editorialize the text. AI-generated study guides cite Scripture, not opinions, and we mark them as study aids — not sermons.
Who we are
Rooted is built by a small team that uses it daily. We're a faith-based product, and we say that openly. We're also independent — no investors, no growth-at-all-costs targets, no ad network selling your data. The Seed tier is free forever. The Rooted tier ($2.99/mo) funds the AI usage and keeps the lights on.
